Summer's still not over, so we headed straight to San Pablo, Laguna and looked for a place where we could spend our time being with friends and nature without breaking our budget.
For a change, we've decided to go swimming on a lake. Just 'on the lake', because all of us don't know how to swim and we can't even go in the water without a life vest. Pandin Lake in San Pablo was the chosen by all of us because we've heard a lot of good reviews to this place. And yes, they were right.
From the parking lot, a tour guide, actually he was just a 12-year old boy, guided us on the way to the lake. It was a tiring 20-minute walk, but we were entertained by a lot of farm animals eating greens everywhere.
After the long walk, there it was, a serene and beautiful lake. We were greeted by the very nice natives and asked if we wanted to ride a balsa.
Riding costs P180 per head. It's a 2-hour ride in a balsa with a complimentary buko drink but if you want to buy a meal, it's another P180 per head. Since we brought our own meals, we just opted for the 2-hour ride without food.
We were assisted by a lot of old ladies which also gave us an overview regarding the place. They told us that Pandin Lake used to be a fish pond first before becoming an eco tourism spot. Water depth is about 70 feet and it gets colder as it gets deeper.
And of course, our day wouldn't be complete without really experiencing the water, so we took a plunge.
Yeah! it was great, water's very clean and not too cold
